CET is Common Eligibility Test conducted in Haryana for continuing to apply for Mains Exam. If a candidate passed in CET can apply for Mains Exam. Mains exam is conducted for Group C Posts. In Group D post there no Mains exam is Conducted. Candidates are selected on Group D Post on merit list from CET Exam. There are Different CET is Conducted for Group C and Group D Post. SYLLSBUS FOR CETGeneral AwarenessThe purpose of this section is to assess the candidate’s general knowledge of their surroundings and the relevance of current events to society. Questions will be based on topics that an average person appearing for this test is expected to know. This section will cover a wide range of subjects, including: India and its Neighbors- History, politics, geography, and culture. Indian Polity & Constitution- Structure of government, fundamental rights, duties, and amendments. Art and Culture- Indian traditions, music, dance, literature, and historical monuments. Geography- Physical and political geography of India and its neighboring countries, resources, and environmental issues. Economics- Basic economic principles, economic surveys, inflation, monetary policy, fiscal policy, and global economic trends. National and International Organizations- Understanding key organizations like the UN, WTO, and regional institutions. Environment and Climate- Issues related to sustainability, climate change, and global efforts to combat environmental challenges. General Science and Technology- Basics of physics, chemistry, biology, and advancements in science and technology. Globalization- Trends and challenges in the global economy, technology, and international relations. Reasoning This section will test the candidate’s logical thinking ability, both verbal and non-verbal. The questions could involve: Verbal Reasoning- – Semantic and symbolic analogies – Number analogies and trends – Classification and relationships – Series and patterns (both semantic and numerical) – Coding and decoding – Word building and social intelligence Non-Verbal Reasoning- – Figural analogies and classification – Spatial orientation and pattern recognition – Punched hole patterns, folding and unfolding shapes – Embedded figures and figure series – Drawing inferences and critical thinking The reasoning questions may also test emotional intelligence and problem-solving abilities, requiring candidates to understand relationships, make logical deductions, and solve complex problems efficiently. Quantitative Ability This section will assess the candidate’s ability to solve mathematical and quantitative problems. Key topics will include: Number System- Simplification, decimals, fractions, and relationships between numbers. Arithmetic- LCM, HCF, ratio and proportion, percentages, averages, profit and loss, discounts, and simple and compound interest. Mensuration- Calculation of areas, volumes, and surface areas of various geometrical figures. Time & Work, Time & Distance- Problems related to work efficiency, rates, and distances. Algebra- Basic equations, inequalities, and algebraic expressions. Geometry- Focus on geometric shapes, properties, and formulas. Trigonometry- Basic principles and applications in problems. Data Interpretation- Solving problems based on tables, charts, and graphs. English Language This section will test the candidate’s proficiency in English. The questions may include: Grammar- Spotting errors, improving sentences, and identifying correct usage of tenses, prepositions, and conjunctions. Vocabulary- Synonyms, antonyms, homonyms, idioms & phrases, and one-word substitutions. Sentence Construction- Shuffling sentence parts, correcting sentence structure, and converting between active and passive voice. Reading Comprehension- Answering questions based on a given passage to test understanding and inference skills. Close Passage- Filling in the blanks to complete a passage. Spelling and Error Detection- Identifying misspelled words or grammatical mistakes. General Knowledge of Haryana This section tests the candidate’s awareness of various aspects of the state of Haryana. It includes a broad range of topics such as – History – Important historical events, rulers, and developments in Haryana’s past. Literature – Notable works of literature, poets, writers, and literary traditions from the state. Geography – Physical and political geography of Haryana, including its major cities, rivers, and landmarks. Economy – Economic profile of Haryana, including key industries, agricultural practices, and economic policies. Civics and Polity – Structure of the state government, local governance, and important political figures and parties in Haryana. EXAM PATTERN FOR HSSC CET 2024Exam will be of 100 Question for one mark of each Question. Candidate have to attempt all the Question. There will be four option for answering the question in question paper. There will be five circle for each question in OMR answer sheet. Candidate have to dark the circle for answering. If he/She want not to attempt the Question he/she can fill up the fifth option. He/she will not get any marks for filling fifth option. There will be no negative marking answering the questions. But If any candidate not attempt any question or not selects any of five option there will 1/4th mark for each un attempted question be deducted from candidate score. A General Candidate have to score Minimum 50 % Score for qualifying this Exam HARYANA CET 2024 . A Reserve Category Candidate need to score 40% marks for qualifying this Exam HARYANA CET 2024. |
